Gaylords antiques was formed in 1966 by my late father Don Hebbard, opening his first shop in 1971, in Portsmouth, with a stock worth the princely sum of 80! Working with my father as a school boy, then as a young man, gave me a privileged opportunity to become not only educated about antiques but also appreciate his great love of antique furniture, which in time passed onto me.
We offer a 'one stop shop' for all aspects of valuations, whatever the piece you need a valuation for. We offer a comprehensive valuation service for estate purposes/probate/insurance Valuation certificates can be provided. Our fees are dependent upon the nature and complexity of the valuation, please contact us for an estimate.

I bought a beautiful burr walnut pot cabinet after only seeing it online and following up with a phone call to get reassurance that it really was as good as it looked. I spoke to Ian who was as enthusiastic as I was about the craftsmanship and described it as "museum quality". When it arrived, I could see that he was telling the truth. Gaylords was recommended to me by a friend who has used it several times so l ordered a large table online. I phoned the shop to discuss the item before the purchase and found the staff very helpful and informative. They had a lovely manner with me and sent me more pictures to my email. I was delighted that they could send me the table by courier for a very reasonable price. When l actually saw the table it was much nicer than l thought, it had been finished to a high standard and was just stunning. I was totally impressed with every aspect of the service l got and will certainly be using them
