For Special Educational Needs (SEN) enquiries, please contact our SENCO Kirsty Dyson on 01302 868284. St Michael's is a Church of England Primary School for children from the ages of nearly 5 to 11 years. As an Academy School, we are supported by the Diocese of Sheffield Academies Trust. We have a close working partnership with one other school from within the trust, St Albans CE Primary School, and we share the same Executive Headteacher.

We also have close links with St Michael's Church and the local Christian community who offer us a lot of support. Our School was originally built in the nineteen century and started life as the local village school for Old Rossington. The School was expanded in the 1960's and early 2000's when the Victorian buildings were supplemented by the building of extra classrooms and halls to meet the demand of rising pupil numbers.
Services
At St Michael's, we pride ourselves on creating an engaging and thought provoking History curriculum. We currently follow the Programmes of Study from the National Curriculum and teach through a topic based approach. We use Key Skills to assess progress and attainment.

We ensure that throughout school History allows our children to compare and contrast, to examine how and why things have changed, to learn about historical characters and improve their research skills. The children are provided with many opportunities to use both primary and secondary sources for historical enquiry.
We aim to provide a firm foundation of the teachings of the Christian Faith and traditions, encouraging close links with the local Christian community and the Parish of St Michael's Church, Old Rossington. We aim to provide a varied and balanced curriculum within which the skills of numeracy and literacy are developed.
We have made some changes to improve the system for supplying school uniform. There are no minimum order quantities and your uniform will be delivered directly to your chosen address for only 2.99. Other ordering information including sizes, delivery information and the returns procedure is also available online.
Families can make meal choices well in advance and can discuss food allergies and intolerances with trained and professional staff. Taylor Shaw are unable to instigate a medical diet without this information. Please hand the form into school and we will email it across to Taylor Shaw. It will then be passed onto their dietitian who will check details and issue a menu.
In this current hot weather people are often tempted to cool down by taking a swim in our reservoirs. However, cold water can be a killer and we'd like to raise awareness of these risks amongst young people. Cold water shock can lead to hyperventilation, increased blood pressure, breathing difficulties and heart attacks plus water temperatures remain just as cold in summer as in winter.
