Services
Sylatech is a ground-breaking design and manufacturing business with a heritage of 56 years in delivering precision custom engineering solutions for our customers. Operating from the UK, Sylatech has a global customer base across multiple business sectors including Aerospace, Space, Defence, Medical, Automotive and Construction.
At Sylatech we offer a range of challenging and rewarding opportunities across engineering, production, sales and administration. As a business focussed on delivering first class systems, assemblies and components to our domestic and international customers, every role within Sylatech is key to ensuring our success.
At Sylatech, our unique block moulding version of the lost-wax investment casting method affords customers a process capable of producing thin wall and lightweight components. Working exclusively with casting non-ferrous metals, our specialist process delivers small castings with a wall thickness as fine as 0.2 mm, and more typically 1-3 mm.
Sylatech's foundry casting process achieves excellence in the production of copper and aluminium alloy lost wax investment castings. The lost wax investment casting process provides a fast and cost effective method for both small batches and large quantities up to 150,000 per year. Parts with complex internal and external detail, superior finishes and thin wall capabilities can be produced, without the need for machining from solid.
The mould material used by the Sylatech casting process is applied as a slurry and is easily removed by water jets. This enables fine through holes of up to 0.8mm in diameter to be cast. Long through holes may be cast if crossholes are provided to support the mould core during casting. Threads are best not cast but provision of a hexagonal cavity around a bolt hole allows the use of a captive nut or bolt, removing the need to tap a hole.
