Generally speaking a Stainless Bolt is a basic term used to describe a fastener with a Hexagon Head that is partially threaded only. Of course like most things there are some exceptions to this within our industry and thus within this site.
Hex Bolts are used in a wide range of engineering type applications for joining two or perhaps more members together in conjunction with a hexagon nut which when tightened correctly exerts a clamping force to the joint thus holding it tight under normal service conditions.A feature of this type of fastening is that is can be easily dismantled as and when required.

Self tapping screws are specially designed screws which produce their own mating thread into the material used as they are being applied into a pre-drilled or punched or moulded holes. Mainly used in thin sheet material they can also be used in some soft plastics and Aluminium.
Main advantages are easier and quicker assembly (no holes to tap as with machine screws) good resistance to vibration due to closeness of thread engagement and access is only required from one side.Standard self tapping screws have a pointed end (Gimlet point) Type AB (Form C) which gives a lead into the hole provided.

Studding is a continuous threaded rod the most popular length being one meter or if with Imperial threads then it's three feet. Three Meter lengths can be made available but these would have to be collected from our premises as carriers will not transport these.
Studding has multiple uses such as Tie Rods, Suspending Trunking, or it can be cut to lengths required and used where the length required for example is much longer than a readily available bolt.Standard Nuts and Washers are available also where a longer length is required we can supply a long nut (Studding Connecter) which 3 X Diameter and is made for this purpose.

Stainless Nuts are used in conjunction with a variety of Bolts or Screws. Mainly hexagonal in shape the basic purpose of these is to enable the fastener to be stretched into an elastic state as it is tightened which thus has the effect of keeping the associated joint tight providing the correct amount of torque is applied as recommended by an engineer.
Misc stainless items listed in this section are here because they do not fall under a recognised DIN, ISO British or American Standard. Also the product description may not readily fall within the other headings on this site. Being specialist Stainless Steel Fastener suppliers we are able to offer many items for purchase that to others would be special or non standard.

I needed 150mm M4 machine screws to extend the depth of a couple of Borg locks that I was fitting to custom made doors - that length of screw doesn't seem to exist. I spent hours on Amazon looking at various firms but nobody could help. Or if they could they wanted me to buy the units in packs of 1000! I stumbled across these guys in Google and emailed them my dilemma. Frank in their technical dept suggested threaded rod (which he kindly chopped down) and slotted sleeve nuts. He charged £10 (including postage) which was a steal in my view and worth a punt. It worked a treat and got me out of a
