Continuity and professionalism are two of the crucial ingredients in guaranteeing patients a caring and consistently high quality level of eye care service. We have always placed great emphasis on an established, family commitment that contributes significantly to the continued success of our opticians. Patient care is our number one priority.
Services
The eye examination is an important health check - during which your eyes will be examined externally and internally for any eye disease. Our Optometrists can refer any patient with a cataract, which needs medical attention, directly to the hospital's waiting list, therefore, reducing waiting times.
At Parker Optometrists we concentrate on providing high quality eyewear, carefully selecting frames from a number of reputable companies to ensure we can provide stylish, durable well fitting spectacles. We stock designer names from many leading companies such as Prada, Bvlgari, Versace, Polo Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Guess, Elle, Radley and Rayban.
At Parker Optometrists we always like to keep up with modern advances in instrumentation to ensure that our patients receive the best possible eye care. Optical Coherence Tomography, OCT, is an advanced eye scan for all people of all ages. Similar to ultrasound, OCT uses light rather than sound waves to image the different layers that make up the structures at the front and the back of your eye.
Contact lenses are more versatile than ever before and here at Parker Optometrists we pride ourselves on providing the most innovative lenses along with professional, high quality aftercare. In the past the choice of contact lenses was limited to either hard or soft and only selected prescriptions or patients were suitable for them.
Parker Optometrists offers a full NHS eye examination and a range of frames available under the NHS voucher scheme. In receipt of Universal Credit, Income Support, Income based Jobseekers Allowance, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance or Tax Credit. Some proof of entitlement would be required on booking the appointment along with your National Insurance number.

I went in on Tuesday to have new lenses fitted in my glasses, the woman came out saying I was really lucky, really lucky, really really lucky as a mistake had been made with my so called order. I’d been given much better lenses, (all singing and dancing) than I had ordered, I would like to point out, I did not choose any lenses, they were dispensed. How rude, I've never ever been treated so badly, I'm a pensioner, I went there as a patient, will not be returning

On June 6th my previous opticians informed me that because of covid-19 it would be highly unlikely that I would have a laser operation before mid August, so I had to order two pairs of glasses costing £160 which made minimal difference to my vision (total waste of money), so I made an appointment for a second opinion with Parker Optometrists. When I explained that I was a foster dad, and being banned from driving would be a nightmare scenario for me, Mrs Parker immediately said that she would phone the eye centre to explain my circumstances. She stressed that she couldn't make any promises but

I visited the opticians this morning for a eye test, due as lockdown happened! And subsequently breaking my glasses 3 weeks into It. I can’t praise them enough for the contact and help they gave me during this time and today when picking my new glasses. Mrs Parker was outstanding with the adjustments she has had to make as I arrived their with my mask intact, a shame others haven’t done the same after all the hard work and changes these people have had to deal with. I can recommend anybody to go to PARKERS for that professional, individual consultation and attention which is I’m afraid not

Parkers are the best opticans around. The team are so friendly and helpful. Claire is such a lovely person looks after the whole family. My mum has been there for as long as they have and always the same. We would never go anywhere else. I lwould advise anyone and everyone to go there. I had lost sight in my left eye, Claire's dad detected problem straight through to hospital. Same with my mum's eyes. You wouldn't get better thought of anywhere else.
