Our instructors are all qualified Pilates instructors who have trained with the Pilates Institute in London, STOTT Pilates, Modern Pilates or Fitness Pilates. Our aim at Aberdeen Pilates Studio is to teach clients how to help themselves, and to continue working closely with various practitioners to deliver the best professional and personal Pilates tuition available.

Developed from the 1920s by the legendary physical training Joseph H Pilates, the Pilates traditional method is a series of 34 movements across a wide range of specially designed exercise equipment, used for Fitness Pilates and Rehabilitation Pilates. Modern Pilates has modified and adapted many exercises to make Pilates more functional for our lifestyles today.
Pilates offers both mental and physical training. For pre or postnatal women, Pilates exercises are beneficial as they help to concentrate on areas which are vital pre and postnatal. They provide an ideal preparation for labour and an important stage in the recovery after labour. Abdominal strength is important to help support the weight of the growing uterus, support & act as a splinter to the spine, and aid childbirth.
There are various ways to get started. You can purchase books, tapes and videos to use in your home or come along to the peaceful surroundings in the Aberdeen Pilates Studio for a group or private matwork class. Pilates is not just a series of exercises, it is a way of life. It will not only change the way you look, but how you think and feel, increasing your understanding of your body, the most precious gift we have.
