Services
IROC was developed in partnership by mental health practitioners at Penumbra and people who have a lived experience of mental health issues. The aim was to embed recovery focused practice in Penumbra and make a real difference to people who use services. Penumbra is a Scottish Voluntary Sector Organisation, working in the field of mental health.
IROC wellbeing is a powerful set of outcome measurement tools for mental health recovery. Designed to provide interactive engagement between person, practitioner and organisation, the tools can be can be used in digital and paper format. Together they create a holistic picture of recovery and wellbeing, helping to identify high priority areas, set aims and track progress along the recovery journey.
Each client has an account on the CMS which is created and updated by a practitioner. The account records the client's personal data, as well as their IROC scores and other information about their recovery. Using the CMS, practitioners can manage their client records, both on and offline, and easily run reports around recovery and outcomes.
Recovery is variously described as a personal journey, a process, a concept, a way of thinking, an approach or an outlook. Recovery does not necessarily relate to achieving a complete absence of symptoms or finding a 'cure'. It is not about living our lives free from challenge, trauma, pain, grief, illness, distress or other factors that challenge our health and wellbeing.
