Services
Julian qualified in dental technology from Cardiff University in 1990. After working with his Uncle as a trainee technician to gain practical experience he decided to set up JSL Dental Laboratory in 1992. Julian's ambition was to establish a small laboratory producing high quality work with a focus on quality over quantity.
JSL Dental Lab was launched in Bath, Somerset in 1992 by Julian Lye. Since the beginning our vision has been to produce high quality work by a small experienced team, backed up by the very latest in dental technology. We offer a highly personalised and bespoke service and establish a close relationship with each dental team through close communication.
I have been working with Julian at JSL Dental Lab for several years and during that time I have been impressed with his desire to consistently apply himself to delivering a high quality product and very personal service.

As someone who does a lot of implant and cosmetic work it is crucially important that I work with a technician that I can fully trust and more importantly is willing to take constructive feedback so that together we can produce the best possible results and this is what Julian has always done over the years that I have worked with him.
If you are looking for the ultimate aesthetic result, all ceramic restorations can be made in materials such as Zirconia Oxide or pressed ceramic, Emax. These materials are ideal for use in the oral environment. They react in light for use in the oral environment. They react to light in similar ways to natural dentition and offer unmatched aesthetics and immense strength.
Whilst we continue to see a growth in the use of all ceramic restorations there will always be a need for metal ceramics due to their exceptional masking properties and longevity. We use only precious metals in all our restorations. Due to its excellent strength and bonding properties metal restorations are still used when large span bridgework is required or for posterior cases where there is minimal occlusal space.
