This project offers the opportunity to revise and refine concepts and principles that FPA had outlined in the design of their house extension project in Surbiton where the project is split into two separate sub-briefs and organized around two distinctive new buildings.
The design approach of this MAISONETTE in London NOTTING HILL adopts a phenomenological strategy devised to stimulate the bodies of the users when negotiating different spaces, whether ascending or descending.GIO' is a dodecagonal, multifaceted, highly decorative everyday double vessel and a container without an 'up' or a 'down' to satisfy multiple tasks within the household.

Francesco is extremely available and patient; during our numerous meetings he listened to what we wanted, developed a clear vision of the project and worked with us to find the best solution to our requests. During the project he was present and supportive.

Francesco has redesigned my 2-bedroom Victorian flat with garden in London. I knew he is a brilliant architect, so I trusted him completely and I have no regrets.
He has excellent design ideas, but also attention to practicality, which is important for those who end up living in the property.

Francesco worked with us to create a kitchen/diner addition. I had very few fixed notions of what I wanted at the beginning, which meant that Francesco had to tease out the requirements, aspiration & personal preferences from discussions & observations during the time that he invested in getting to know myself, my family & our somewhat unique circumstances.
One of the most enduring requirements that I had was that the building should reflect & sit comfortably within the outdoor environment which we are passionate about & that it’s structure should not detract from the view of the garden available
