The Old Bakery
In addition, every Friday & Saturday in November we run a one day Introduction to Sourdough Bread Baking Course. We are located on Garrett Street in the heart of the beautiful and unspoilt villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, just a stone's throw from the sea on the south west coastal path. Our ONE DAY CLASS is suitable for everyone, whether you have baked bread before or not.

The class focuses on the essentials of sourdough baking and incorporates the techniques necessary for you to be successful with sourdough.

Lovely bakery. Coffee and pastries were delicious. Very small outside seating area to bear in mind if your visiting with dogs, but of course there are plenty of places to sit on the beach/ harbour and enjoy the view there.

A lovely and unique place to have breakfast. All food fresh and tasty. Service is friendly despite being very busy. Go early as their pastries sell out quickly.

Just had the most delicious Pizza from The Old Bakery, four cheese, wild garlic and olive! What’s not to like. Only downside?! wild garlic isn’t available all year round ☺️ absolutely delicious

I visited in March and had a Lovely tasting sourdough panini whilst on holiday.
I politely asked if I could have some sourdough starter and I was pleased when they said yes.
It’s June the 15th now and the starter is still going and making lovely bread, so thank you.
Good independent cafe and I wish you well, hopefully you will survive this crisis and I encourage others to visit and try the high quality food on offer. We will pop in when next in the area. The panini’s are outstanding.

It is a pity that the bakery has open only 3 days a week because the pastries are so delicious. I had to come every day to try all of their rolls (snails) - cinnamon, walnut/coffee and lemon 🍋... worth to come over!

We stayed for two nights, whilst attending a wedding locally. Accommodation was reasonably priced and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast and coffee both fantastic and their homemade sour dough is beautiful.
Would certainly stay here again, the hosts were great.

A small cafe and restaurant in a village that is worth visiting for itself alone. It is a short walk from the beach which may stop it being too crowded but it is still central.
A good choice of food. We only had a snack and a coffee All was well prepared and enjoable Seeing the meals that came out of the kitchen made us a bit jealous.
Bed and breakfast is available.

Had a fantastic salad today with some gorgeous freshly baked sourdough bread that's baked every day by Chris. Liz adapts the salad for vegans and swaps the feta cheese with some extra tasty items ! It really is an excellent place for breakfast, lunch or coffee & cake and I highly recommend it all round !

The Tarka Dhal I had for lunch was just amazing. Easily the best I've had anywhere since touring round India in 2009, and on a par with what I had over there too!

What a gem! Delicious lunch followed by a cream tea. I'm a Penzance girl and have to say they were the best scones I have ever eaten. (and there have been a few) I did see another table putting their cream on first though! If you are looking for great fresh food, relaxing atmosphere and excellent friendly service you have got to come here. There's a stunning coastal path to help walk if off too. Perfect.
