Services
Formed by Peter McKerral in 1936 as a farm business, we now run a fleet of around 50 modern vehicles including Scania, Volvo, M.A.N., Mercedes, Renault and DAF from our three main sites in Campbeltown, Lochgilphead and Strachur. Peter was joined by his son Donald with his wife, Catherine, in 1968 before expanding into haulage in 1972.
Round timber haulage, especially direct from the forests, is one of the toughest haulage jobs around, taking its toll on man and machine. As members of the Forestry Industry Safety Accord (FISA), we have over 25 years of experience in moving timber safely from forestry sites to port and direct to saw mills and biomass plants.
With over 40 years experience of livestock haulage, we provide a regular service to the main livestock markets and processing plants throughout Argyll and central Scotland. We operate one three-decker and two four-decker cattle floats, servicing the main livestock markets in Argyll & Central Scotland on market days.
We currently have seven fish tankers operating from many ports throughout the West coast of Scotland, hauling harvested salmon to processing facilities. We regularly transport fish food from locations in central Scotland to fish farms and research centres throughout Argyll. We currently operate four waste tankers to transfer waste from the various processing sites in Argyll for further processing.
