We offer an extensive range of training courses for General Aviation pilots and are always delighted to welcome newcomers to our growing family of flyers - from new students learning to fly from ab initio to qualified pilots with hundreds or thousands of flying hours behind them.In the world of aviation there is always more to learn and further to explore.
Services
I have just finished my fixed wing training which was a great joy and enormous fun. A relaxed and friendly bunch of chaps happy to share their knowledge and not in any way pushy with regard to notching up extra hours to bolster their pay.

Just prior to my test, I did a few circuits with Danny who after 30 minutes and three landings, said to me "enough, I don't need to take any more of your money" in spite of the fact that I had budgeted for one hours training.Overseen by Assif with 17,000 hours flying experience, always willing and happy to offer advice.
London Elstree Aerodrome is an ideal base for learning to fly, being situated just North of London close to the M25, M1, A41 and A1. Elstree & Borehamwood railway station is nearby (there are several local taxi firms to choose from) and the airfield lies next to the A41 between Edgware and Watford.
Another highly successful member of the Piper Cherokee range, engineered to deliver an inexpensive aeroplane offering benign (safe) flight characteristics and respectable performance, the Piper Warrior II first rolled off the production line in 1977. The Warrior is primarily distinguished from the Cherokee predecessors by its double-tapered wing planform and two-foot-wider wingspan.
Why not try your hand at flying a light aircraft and book a Trial Flying Lesson with MAK Aviation today? A trial flight at London Elstree Aerodrome in one of our Piper or Cessna aircraft is a thrilling introduction to the wide world of aviation, available as a flexible gift voucher (valid for six months from date of purchase).
The LAPL licence is only valid within the United Kingdom, however permission may be sought from the officials of the destination country to fly abroad. This licence can be obtained by anyone who is fit enough to drive a car, and in fact the medical requirements follow those issued by the DVLA for car and HGV drivers.

Very disappointed. Terrible customer service! AVOID!
My father in law bought gift voucher for 4 seater plane flying experience and confirmed they would allow 2 passengers and an instructor and one passenger would be allowed to fly. The gift voucher written by mak aviation was written for two people.
I called to book a time and they said only one passenger allowed in the 4 seater but I explained why the 4 seater experience was bought than the two seater experience. They denied what they said to my father in law. After calling again they agreed to have 2 passengers as initially agreed.

Positive: Professionalism
Been learning to fly with this company for a couple of months now, training for my PPL. Very impressed with the training and instructors - would highly recommend any day! David is a real credit to the team and has the patience of a saint. Thank you all!

Really great experience with the owner and the widely respected CFI Captain David Smith. He is rather like a 'Tom Cruise' character in his prime. Customer care is the schools aim and sets a high bar for others.

My son had a great day, the manager was very helpful.
Make sure you call to confirm, as other reviews say, if the weather is bad, it will need to be changed to another day, but this is never an issue.
Please do not book through Virgin Experience days, they are rude and charge a lot more, book directly.
Adventure Experience 001 should be avoided too.
My son flew over Amersham and Chesham as well completing circuits. The pilot was great fun too.
I can highly recommend MAK Aviation, thanks guys.

I received a 30 minute flying lesson (with another participant, so I did 30 minutes observation as well) as a gift. I booked the experience long in advance, I went for early June, (I booked in December) hoping it would be perfect weather.
As instructed on my gift certificate, I rang MAK on the day of my experience (a large amount of reviews don’t seem to do this... maybe this is why you don’t get told your flights were cancelled??) and was unfortunately told the weather wasn’t good enough so we weren’t flying. Disappointed, the chap on the phone quickly offered me another date (this happened

Amazing experience and great fun!
We bought 2 experiences so each of us was able to pilot the plane for a few moments. Our pilot, David, was very kind and professional. He made us feel safe and provided a lot of information about the plane and flying in general. It was very windy, so we waited around 1,5 hour for a decision whether the flights will take place, but it was totally worth it!
Those who easily get sick should skip breakfast, especially if it's a windy day.

This review is about customer service. And this place has none of it. I arrived with my wife - it was her birthday present. They began asking me for a £6 landing fee. I responded by saying it would have been nice that they had told me when I called them last night as I had not bought money with me. The gentleman was so rude and started lecturing me on always carrying money, and refused to apologise about not telling me about this extra charge. The other couple that were there also agreed and said they had no idea they had to pay a landing fee either. The the pilot started defending the guy as
