Marbury House antiques was founded back in 1995 by antique furniture restorer Mark Richardson and wife Carol (a horologist and restorer of painted clock dials). Both met and worked together from the early 1980s whilst working for a local antique furniture and clock dealer. Mark and Carol have over 30 years experience and are very highly skilled with a vast knowledge in all aspects of furniture and clock restoration.
We are able to restore most types of traditional antique wooden cased clocks including Longcase or Grandfather, Bracket clocks, Vienna regulators, Round dial and Drop dial wall clocks. Boulle and Lacquer work cases can also be restored. We can offer a cleaning and repair service for Longcase clocks, Vienna wall and Fusee wall clocks over 100 years old.
Restoration of an important Queen Anne period walnut armchair in the manner of Giles Grendy. An interesting, recent restoration project, is this early 18th Century walnut armchair. It arrived with wood worm damaged rear feet worn and rotted. The joints throughout the chair, where loose, rickety and in need of re-gluing.
