I wanted to by a Citroen Berlingo Van and Helix had just the right one. I paid a £150.00 deposit and unfortunately I was not able to get insurance at a reasonable rate so I had to cancel the sale. When I paid the deposit I did ask if it was refundable in the event that I could not proceed with the purchase and was told it was.
I have to admit that it was a bit vague under what circumstances a refund would be offered and I should have checked further.
When I cancelled the sale I had to chase quite hard - four phone calls to get a refund, and then was only offered £80.00 as the van had been MOT
