The report outlined three routes in which first aid could be delivered; Ofqual Awarding Body, First Aid Industry Body and Independents It will be the responsibility of Industry to carry out risk assessments to establish First Aid requirements in the workplace plus also to demonstrate "due diligence" has been observed in employing appropriately qualified training providers.

A course designed to teach the safe and effective use of the Automatic External Defibrillator to improve the chance of survival for a person suffering from a sudden cardiac arrest. On successful completion of the course and final assessment students will be awarded a certificate of competence which is valid for six months.
A course for qualified First Aiders to update their practical skills and knowledge. Upon completion of this course, your first aid certificate will be renewed for a further three years. This course meets the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
On successful completion of the course students will be awarded 'First Aid at Work' certification, approved for the purpose of the Health and Safety (first aid) regulations 1981, which is valid for three years.Recognise and deal with a broad range of injuries and medical emergencies until the arrival of medical care.

This course provides theory and practical training in a range of first aid skills that people may encounter whilst taking part in outdoor activities some time or distance from emergency help. The core content of the course is listed below, the emphasis on training will practical and will include scenario based training with use of simulated casualties on day 2.
