For many parents, the prospect of leaving your child at nursery for the first time can be daunting. This is why at Pangbourne House we give you and your child as much time as you need to feel at home. Before the official starting date we will invite you and your child to come and visit.

This visit is not only to give your child the chance to gain happy anticipations of what there is to come but also offers the opportunity for us to learn from you as much as we can about your child.Pangbourne House is designed to feel as much like home as possible. Our teachers are a dedicated team who are passionate about what they do, their main aim being to give each child confidence and a love of learning.
Services
Fia Russell-Cobb (short for Sophia) started Pangbourne House in 2015 after 30 years of teaching, and then becoming the head of Ladbroke Square Montessori School. Her ambition had always been to set up her own school which would reflect the Montessori method, and place a strong emphasis on creativity.
It is our belief that instigating creative learning at an early age encourages imaginative thinking throughout childhood and beyond. The implementation of creativity into early years education encourages the child's understanding of other people. In creative play the child is able to adopt roles of others which will awaken their awareness of the feelings of others, so introducing the child to the concept of empathy and compassion.
We take children from 2.5- 5 years. The children usually leave us the term after their 4th birthday to go on to their 'big schools'. Pangbourne House offers the MFE (Minimum Funding Entitlement) - an entitlement of 6.65*, per child, per household. Once your child turns 3 years old, the school will let you know that you are eligible to receive the MFE or nursery grant from the government.
There are tables and chairs for around 25 children and benches for adults to sit on around the room. Toys or play equipment will not be available for use during your party. You will find cleaning utensils including a vacuum cleaner, mop and bucket in the kitchen. We will also provide floor and surface cleaners.

Pangbourne House is a dream come true. We feel so lucky to have been given a place at this magical nursery where our daughter was genuinely happy for two years!
The teachers are all caring and passionate and the Montessori activities gave her independence, determination and confidence. She skipped into nursery excitedly every day - what a wonderful experience!
Fia, the headmistress is a true inspiration, her advice and tips are invaluable. I must also call out the wonderful Ana, one of the school managers. We felt genuinely cared for by the Pangbourne team in every way; they went above and beyond

Pangbourne House is a wonderful, creative gem in London. My son has been attending since 2016 and he couldn't be happier. The teachers, head and deputies are all so warm and caring! Well done to the Pangbourne team, you really have created something special.

5 stars doesn't seem to do this school justice. This is the most heavenly Montessori nursery in which it would be impossible not to thrive and have the happiest start to your school life. My older son has been so blissfully happy here but also has grown so so much as a little person and has really come out of his shell. His confidence has sky rocketed in such a marvelous non pushy way. Sophia Russell-Cobb is a true wonder and someone your children need in their lives! I could go on but all I can say is 1000% send your children to Pangbourne House

I feel incredibly lucky to have found a nursery as caring, calm and creative as Pangbourne House. Fia's 20+ years of teaching experience is obvious with your first visit to Pangbourne. The teachers are warm and caring and as a first time mum, it is incredibly reassuring to know my child is in such confident and nurturing hands. The space is also brand new with lots of light, their own garden (as well as access to a large park) - the space feels creative and cozy. Check it out for yourself, you won't be disappointed!

Both of my children have adored being at Pangbourne House. Sophia Russell-Cobb and her brilliant team have created a wonderful montessori nursery school environment with love, fun and inspiration at the core of everything they do. Parents are positively encouraged to be a part of their child's life at nursery. This has meant the transition from a toddler at home to having an independent and confident child at school has been a very natural and happy experience for all of us. My eldest is now at school but loves coming back for holiday clubs and after school activities. I would encourage anyone

It is the best Montessori School I know in the area, with exactly the right balance between engaging the little minds, building confidence and desire to explore while at the same time preparing them for the next step.
My little daughter is leaving the school this year to go to "the big school", and I really feel sad that our two years at Pangbourne are coming to an end. 2-4 is the most precious time in the development of our children, and it is amazing how little attention has been paid to it to date, and I am glad that this is now changing. It is just so short, but also so important.

It truly is the nursery that you dream of for your child! The teachers are all warm, fun and super professional. They care for the children as if they were their own. The school itself is in a lovely new building on 2 floors. It is very spacious, bright and cosy at the same time. They have their own little garden and then they also have direct access to a huge playground and park behind the school. We just wish that Pangbourne House would educate up to 18!

Our son is in his second year at Pangbourne House and it has been a transformative experience for him. I have watched him grow in confidence and ability since he started, which I have no doubt is due to the nurturing and creative Montessori environment at Pangbourne House. I have been very impressed by the teachers and headmistress, who take great care to understand and develop the particular needs of each child. Very highly recommended!

Our two boys have LOVED being at Pangbourne House. The headmistress and teachers make the nursery feel like an extension of home. This is a team that truly care about children; nurturing and developing their confidence and minds. Alongside the montessori education, there are wonderful additional activities like yoga, football, ballet, music, languages and much more. They also run fabulous holiday nursery camps for a range of ages.

I have a 2.5 year old girl attending the nursery and it is DIVINE. Absolute heavenly place with kind, patient, attentive teachers, wonderful array of activities, peaceful, happy, inspiring vibe and real community. My daughter has simply blossomed at Pangbourne, and is extremely happy as are we as the parents. I could not recommend it more!!!! I have three month old twins and they are already signed up.
