Mirfield Martial Arts
Mirfield Martial Arts Club is one of the oldest Aikido Dojos in the UK. Our Instructors have a wealth of experience in practicing and teaching martial arts of various disciplines to all ages. Mirfield Martial Arts Club is a not for profit organisation based near Leeds in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. Aikido was developed in the early 1900's from the older arts of jujitsu, judo and karate.

The founder of Aikido, O' Sensei Morihei Ueshiba continued to practice and teach his art right up to his death in 1969. Aikido is now practiced worldwide and its following is growing. True Aikido is practiced with no aggression. In an attack the aggressor's force is simply redirected and controlled using a system of movements and techniques.
Services
Every martial art is different as every student and their requirements is different. The easiest way to determine which art is best for you is to ask yourself 'what do you want from such study'. No single art can claim to be 'the best' until the criteria for making that claim is established. So by deciding what skills you need the art to provide, you can determine which one is more suited and practical.
We welcome guests and enjoy training with new people and discussing different ways of doing Aikido techniques. Mirfield Martial Arts Club is a non-profit making organisation and all fees are retained by the club. Note that when a parent signs in using an email common to multiple members they can switch between them by clicking their name top right.
For GDPA, safeguarding and insurance purposes every student must have an online account prior to training. Setting one up is simple and only takes a few minutes to complete. We have several instructors who all have their own unique style of teaching so we give you chance to try a few classes to see which suits you best.
