The practice is run by Lee Moden, who has been in busy practice since 2002. Lee previously worked in Cambridge for 14 years where he founded and ran The Jade Pathway Centre. As a full member of The British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), Lee provides acupuncture for people of all ages and states of health, including people with specific ailments such as back pain, headaches and migraines etc, those requiring support during stressful times, or those who are keen to explore greater physical and mental-emotional well-being.

Lee lives with his wife and two children in North Tawton, Devon and has been practicing complementary therapies for over 25 years (19 years as a full-time acupuncturist). After 10 years in the I.T. sector, and a childhood desire to help others, Lee followed his early childhood interests in oriental philosophy and Chinese medicine and looked to understand the deeper roots of illness and disharmony.
An acupuncture treatment session is generally structured into 3 stages. The first stage allows you and your practitioner time to talk about where you are with your health and what you would like support with. The time spent during the initial appointment therefore, is much longer as much more detailed information is gathered.
Chinese medicine diagnosis is based on a diagnostic system traditionally known as the Four Examinations or Four Pillars. These are Looking, Listening/Smelling, Palpation and Asking. An acupuncturist seeks to understand your state of health by using this diagnostic model at every treatment. Looking relates to the observation of the tongue, the face as well as any problematic area.

There are several different styles of acupuncture alongside classical acupuncture, all of which to some degree share a common root, yet are distinct and diverse in their diagnostic and treatment emphasis. The main styles of acupuncture that you may have heard of might include TCM, Five Element Acupuncture, Stems and Branches Acupuncture, Japanese Meridian Therapy, Trigger-Point Acupuncture and Medical Acupuncture.
