As some of you may be aware, we have been impacted by the recent floods in the Stockbridge area. This unfortunately meant that we were unable to open as normal over the last couple of weeks while we dried out. We are delighted to announce that after a testing few weeks we are back seeing our patients in practice.
We were very eager to reopen as soon as possible so please excuse our temporary flooring which we are working hard to get a permanent solution for. I required an emergency appointment and examination for an urgent eye condition for my 10-year-old son on 31 December at noon, when most Opticians are closed or are going to be closed for the new year holiday. The staff responded and arranged quickly. And my DS was well looked after by the team. Mr Chatty carefully checked my son's eyes by aids of the latest eye-check technology, found the problems promptly and arranged everything efficiently. After the visit, relying on Mr Chatty's thorough check, I don't need to worry excessively about my DS's eye on this holiday occasion! Many thanks to you

For years I’ve needed prescription sunglasses 🕶 and have had the usual poor options from Specsavers & limited range. I decided to try out my local opticians Chetty & Das and was surprised to meet a fantastic team of dedicated individuals who were able to take the time and source exactly what I want. I was hesitant when discussing cost but again was delighted with the fantastic discounts they were able to negotiate for me on my behalf! I made an appointment to be examined because of some pain and dryness in my eyes - this was the first visit and I chose this place because it is close to my work and I managed to arrange an appointment on the day during my lunch break. A couple of people from the team were very helpful and welcoming, and the doctor made a very meticulous examination. However I felt uncomfortable by the approach of some of the team and left wondering if I need to commit to buy something (i.e my contact lenses) so as to have the ‘right’ to be seen. At Chetty & Das Optometrists you feel really well looked after. I had an in depth eye examination followed by giving me two different contact lenses to try for 4 days each until I was totally sure of the ones that felt the best for me.
I also needed a new pair of glasses. In there, they really know what glasses suit your face and your personality. Im delighted!

My first time at Chetty and Das and it was brilliant. As soon as I entered I was greeted by reception, there was snacks available whilst you wait.
The optician I saw was Maria and she was lovely, everything was explained in detail and it was very comfortable, friendly and professional.

Having been with a big-brand optician for over 20 years, I moved to Chetty and Das last year, and can't recommend them highly enough. All of the staff are friendly, helpful and extremely professional. I am now wearing glasses that actually fit me(!) and lenses that are comfortable and perfect for my needs. They are a busy, family-run practice, and they always go out of their way to be accommodating and flexible. The service is warm, welcoming and, above all, personal.

Who would have thought that going to the optician with the family could be so relaxing? From the ease of making the appointment to the positive experience itself, everything seemed to work perfectly. After several thorough eye checks, I was entirely won over - and impressed - by the knowledge, the friendliness and the responsiveness to children of all the staff in this optician's.
