We are a family run livery yard that offers riding throughout the year from a very special place. The yard sits at the end of a lane overlooking the Atlantic ocean to the South West with views to the Mewstone, Rame Head and on a fine day to the famous Eddystone lighthouse and beyond. At Wembury we are extremely lucky to have some amazing places to ride; much of which are off road taking in the stunning views and beautiful woodlands.
We have 16 acres of bluebell woods which offer ever changing flora and fauna throughout the seasons. We are but 100 metres from Wembury beach and a stunning stretch of National Trust coastal path. We have taken great care in selecting horses and ponies to suit all ages and riding abilities from compete beginners to advanced riders.

Magnet is 13.1hh and 13 years old. He is a super friendly chap who is brilliant if you're feeling a little nervous and will do his best to look after you as you learn to ride. In his younger years he was a gymkhana whizz but he now takes life at a more leisurely pace. Megs is a beautiful British Riding pony standing at 12.3hh and is 15yrs young.
We have space for a few more members of our Pony Club group. If this is something that you are interested in, please feel free to call us for a chat or pop to the yard for a visit. Pony Club membership forms are available from the Wembury Bay office. These need to be completed and returned to the Pony Club, you will receive your centre membership pack soon after!
At Wembury we have a range of lessons to suit all ages and abilities. Riders can enjoy private lessons or take part in one of our popular group lessons. Our qualified instructors will make you feel at ease, and our safe, confidence-giving horses and ponies will ensure you have a really enjoyable time with us.

I rode at Wembury a few years back and had a lovely time. I thought I’d take my daughter and granddaughter there for a nice hack around their beautiful countryside. Unfortunately the person on the phone was very rude. Asked my weight which, I’m on a diet, is just under 14stn. She proceeded to tell me they don’t take anyone of that weight. And that… they’d have to weigh me when I get there. I had looked at their horses and there are plenty of weight bearing ponies there. I ride a 14.2 sturdy cob at the moment who has no trouble carrying me. I was made to feel exceedingly

I had a few lessons with them and I had people watching me the whole time and then criticising me and I hated every second of it I’m autistic and I hated people judging me anyway let alone my riding when I was trying to learn I payed for lessons but felt like I was paying to be bullied in school again ! Horrible

My children were given a ride at Wembury Bay as a birthday present. We arrived early and the lady suggested that we went into the small animal room for a cuddle with the (very well cared for and laid-back) guinea pigs. My 5 & 6 year olds couldn't have been more delighted! The ride itself was great, we walked alongside their very gentle ponies as they were led by 2 lovely ladies along the tracks above the bay. The scenery is stunning, the people were so accommodating and sweet and our kids were just thrilled with the whole experience (the rosettes they were given at the end are now highly treasured
