Hailing from Northern Greece, Ioannis brings a sunny disposition to all his patients helping them feel instantly at ease. Following graduation in 2002 (UPJS), he worked in the private sector in Greece, before relocating to the UK in 2007. From his early years in clinical practice he developed a passion for aesthetic dentistry and attended several courses to improve his skills and knowledge.
Following a thorough examination and assessment of your individual needs and habits; we will recommend and discuss with you a dental plan to keep your gums and teeth healthy. Preventive visits to your dentist and the hygienist help you quash dental problems before they arise, they also maintain healthier gums and leave your teeth cleaner and whiter.
For minor or severely damaged, broken, worn or decayed teeth, our dentists will investigate, assess and discuss the options available with respect to biology and nature. We favour minimally invasive dentistry and use the latest technologies in dental adhesion to restore and prevent further damage to your teeth.
Teeth whitening can be a very effective way of lightening the natural colour of your teeth without removing any of the tooth surface. Whitening products that you can buy outside of your dentist only contain 0.1% hydrogen peroxide and very little active ingredient to whiten your teeth.

A welcoming and friendly practice. Decorated to suite the period of the building but hosting up-to-date equipment including EMS guided Biofilm Therapy. Hygiene made unbelievably comfortable and thorough. The dentists are really sympathetic and gentle, offering the best treatments and materials. Excellent thoroughly recommended. Thank you. 😁

Excellent advice. I’d read very good reviews about Burgate Dental. I was asking for some advice on cosmetic dental treatment and Ioannis gave me a lot of very helpful information.
I’ve since started treatment and am in the process of having two fillings replaced and teeth whitening. I’m very happy with my treatment and all the friendly team at Burgate.
Update: I’m very happy, every step is clearly explained. I have a hygienist appointment and then start the whitening process. Perfect, thank you.

New patient, appt within a week after a cracked tooth while abroad. I am very nervous - normally needing sedation. Dana and the reception and nurse were all lovely. Time taken to understand my nervousness and the fact that i needed adrenaline free anaesthetic. I was able to have a deep filling with no sedation. I will be back in the new year to have the rest done. Price very reasonable. Many Thanks. Would recommend.

I had a wisdom tooth out yesterday. I was extremely nervous as the tooth was broken and I am nervous about dentists anyway. Dana was amazing, she talked me through everything. She checked continually that I was okay and was very reassuring. The dental practice even called today to check that I was okay. Great customer service, and fantastic treatment. Thank you.

Had been putting off getting work done due to worrying about the complexity of my particular case, but on my first consultation Ioannis devised a plan of action that immediately put my mind at ease. Am now a couple of months into treatment and very impressed with the service. The staff are passionate and professional, and - while there may be cheaper alternatives - the attention to detail and pride in their work make it absolutely worth it.

I’d put off the dentists for far too long and Ive been waiting for a dentist that was going to get me through that dreaded door. I heard about Dana and I did it. I booked in. Turned up and cried on her couch and she was so amazing. She was so patient, explained everything and reassured me that what I’d built up in my head was not the reality. Just a hygienist who was also amazing and some fillings replaced. The fear is gone. What’s she’s done for me is life changing. It’s a lovely place and doesn’t feel like a dentists at all. Great staff, professional service. I never felt this comfortable in any dental practice. While in severe pain I almost visited all the dental practices to get an appointment in Canterbury and non of them cared about my pain. Earliest appointment I found was 2 weeks later. Luckily I found them. They gave me an appointment for the same day! As soon as swelling is gone Ms Dana did my root canal treatment perfectly and I didn’t feel pain for a single moment. Definitely recommended.
