Services
Our medical experts offer a comprehensive range of the latest laser, minor surgical and aesthetic procedures, to treat a wide range of conditions affecting the skin. Removal of cysts, moles, skin tags, fatty lumps (skin lesions where removal is not covered on the NHS). Some treatments may be available on the NHS, depending on your circumstances.
The service is located in a dedicated, discrete facility on the Bedford Hospital site. The clinical environment meets all of the regulatory requirements for the safe operation of specialist laser therapy equipment.

The centre is proud to be one of a very small number in the UK to have the full suite of the most modern laser therapy equipment available, which is impressive given the increasing levels of complexity in the field of cutaneous laser therapy over the last two decades. The range of laser equipment can be used to treat a very diverse range of skin types and conditions.
It depends on the laser to be used, however patients often liken it to being flicked with an elastic band. Cool air can help with this. For a laser treatment that is more painful you will be offered numbing cream or a local anaesthetic injection. This depends on the condition, and the laser used.

For hair and tattoo removal we recommend at least 4 to 6 treatments at 4 to 8 weeks apart, but you will have a discussion about this on your initial consultation. No, the colour in your skin will affect the response of the Laser, and will increase the chance of side effects. Although there is no scientific reason to delay treatment, it is wise not to embark on non-essential treatment at this time.
