L.C. Hughes is a family owned business spanning three generations, first established in 1968 by Leonard Charles Hughes. The site was once a POW camp for German & Italian prisoners and some of the surrounding features from that time can still be seen within the yard. L.C. Hughes Partnership today is a well-established successful firm thanks to the local community and surrounding businesses within Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire who continue to scrap their waste metals at our site.
Services
We buy complete vehicles in any condition, collected or delivered. As an Authorised treatment Facility, we are fully trained in how to make your old car environmentally safe before it is crushed and recycled. We buy other vehicles and machinery such as LGV'S HGV'S, fork lifts, old factory equipment & machines.
We can organises a complete removal service of all obsolete machinery, packing materials, general waste etc. Anything left behind that you need gone and disposed of, we can do. Our experience ranges from telecommunication companies, defence facilities, hospitals, retail shopping outlets, large warehousing, trading estates and various automotive factories from blue chip organisations to small businesses.
We buy various types of metals and pay per weight. Once you arrive on site we need to register you on our system. We then sort the different types of scrap that you may have and weigh them separately on our scales. All light and heavy iron is weighed on our main weighbridge and tipped onto our concrete tipping pad.
End of life vehicles doesn't mean end of life parts. You would be surprised just how many vehicles have new parts fitted just before failing on something else and ending up being scraped. Our vehicles are stored on ground level for easy access, all you need to do is bring your own tools, and agree to our site rules & regulations.
Customer Notice: Due to time taken to remove car parts, customers will be stopped from entering the yard 1 hour before closing time. From the M40 Junction 9, we about 10 minutes by car. We are located approximately 2 miles heading out of Bicester on the A41 on the left side. If coming from Aylesbury, we are located on the right side about 100 yards from the speed camera on the hill once past the low tunnel.

Make sure you take a first aid kit, scuba gear, waders and a "hard hat" , the place is a death trap, exhausts, seats, bumpers, wheels, parts all over the place, buried in the ground, ready to trip you up, mud everywhere ( they'll blame the weather) and expensive to boot, come on Hughes, do what other breakers do, concrete the yard and tidy up ! Must admit "Caroline" is very helpful 👍

Very professional and efficient. I had to salvage my car on a specific date and time and Gareth was extremely helpful and accommodating. The salvage process was very fast and easy. LC Hughes has also put in a lot of extra health and safety measures in place (due to COVID) and I felt completely comfortable and safe throughout the entire salvage process. Excellent business and highly recommend them!!!

Excellent service, even got a cup of tea free of charge.
I was told the part would take 45 minutes to remove but I obviously got a premium service and had Gavin on the job who managed to remove it in 30 minutes, he is definitely eating the correct breakfast perhaps Weetabix or at least 4 of his 5 a day

I wasted a morning removing car parts in the yard but when it came time to pay for them they just searched for prices on eBay. This was particularly frustrating because the guy in front of me got a total bargain. They wanted me to pay an insane amount for a tail light because otherwise they would just sell it themselves on eBay. I felt that if it was in the yard and they had chosen not to remove it on the cars arrival then it could be bought over the counter for a sensible price? I wont be returning and will just shop online now with a cup of tea. Why hike through a muddy yard with my tool box
