At the time there were several quarries along the North East coast of Anglesey, namely, Traeth Bychan, Benllech, Castle Rock (Red Wharf Bay), Llandona, Penmon and Flag Staff. All the quarries produced block for the two bridges over the Menai Straits. Aber Quarry is now the only remaining quarry in production; we have large stocks of Grey Limestone ready for extraction.
Our stone is suitable for all kinds of applications - being quite a hard limestone it takes a high polish and has excellent weathering properties. We are a firm of Stonemasons working out of our own Quarry in Anglesey. Our Grey Carboniferous Limestone has been used in building since the 19th Century. It is a very good match for Penmon Limestone which was used extensively across Britain, two notable examples of which are the Bridges to Anglesey.
