It provides breathtaking scenery in which to enjoy the excellent views across the Snowdonia Mountains. The staff have to undergo continuous development especially on safety issues including first aid and riding qualifications. Radio contact is maintained with the centre during treks. Why not try our celebrated pub ride?

Also available is our two or three-day trail rides around the area, with either camping, bunkhouse, B & B or hotel accommodation to chose from. Please note that due to the duty of care we have to the horses there is a weight limit for participents. Please contact us for further information.

Spot on. We have riden before but still very much beginners. We had a lovely 2hour walk and it was peaceful, relaxed and at a nice pace. Would recommend and use again. Great value for money and well looked after horses.

Not happy with the stables when they brought out a horse that was not really suitable for an experience rider all of the other teenagers where given horses that were suitable.
The horse they gave my daughter we see earlier with a young boy on it trying to make it trot with out success.
One of the other riders see that the horse was not suitable for any of the riders and very kindly swapped horses with my daughter half way through there 3 hour Hack.
My daughter did not enjoy the ride and was very gratfull to the young lady that swapped horses
I spoke to one of the staff and said its not a suitable

Amazing horses and amazing staff! The staff here couldn't do more for you, I highly recommend for inexperienced riders or experienced riders, the views are stunning! The staff take so much time to select the perfect horse for you and are happy to give you tips on how to get the most out of your ride.
I've been coming back for 15+ years, absolutely love it. I'd recommended one of the shorter rides for first-time riders, as the full day/pub ride can be physically challenging (even after all this time!)
Tips: Dress appropriately, respect the horses & trust the staff (they know best!)

Positive: Quality
Nothing but high praise for the team at Gwydyr. As a group we have been coming every year for 16 years and it is always a wonderful experience. The team are always friendly, knowledgeable and take you on amazing trecks through snowdonia. The horses are so well cared for and they cater to everyone from beginners to experienced riders

We had an amazing time! We went for a 2 hours trekking at it was the highlight of our holiday. The horse were beautiful, lovely and well behaved and perfect also for the kids that were at their first and second time on a horse. They have been talking about Piper, Merlin, Calipso and Alfie since then...! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Fantastic day out with my daughter. Both of us have no experience but everything was explained before we left for a 2 hour trek.
Our instructor was fantastic making us feel at ease.

Having come down from the outer Hebrides, en route for Devon, we were thrilled to be able to book last minute with the very friendly and helpful Becky. We had a three hour trip with Ceris and really enjoyed it. We have our own ponies so weren’t sure what to expect but we found the horses and ponies here to be well mannered and good fun and our most beginner rider, aged 11, had the time of her life getting cantering experience on the sweet “pocket rocket” Diva. I rode Suzie who was a sweet girl and my daughter rode Merlin who was a real character and surprisingly light of foot and keen. Thankyou

I contacted the stables to see if they could accommodate a rider with artificial knees as mounting and dismounting is difficult. Cindy responded promptly and positively.
Becky, the Manager, and her staff at the stables are attentive and helpful. The stables are clean, organised and have a selection of horses and ponies to allow all levels to participate.
One thing to note if reading previous reviews is that the current owners took over the stables a year ago.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gwydyr Stables and if I'm in the area again I will not hesitate to book again.
Thank you for a wonderful

Bit of a hairy drive to get to the stables, but well worth it. Lovely 2 hours trekking through the forest with 3 other riders and Verity. As semi-experienced riders, we were allowed to take things at our own pace, trotting and cantering if we wished. Verity was great and really good with the 2 children in our group who hadn't ridden before. Would definitely recommend it.

Went today with my two daughters who hadn’t ridden for 3 years . ( did have own ponies ) They went on a 1.5hr hack and had the most amazing time . Ellie took them out and was really friendly making them at ease . They felt really confident and safe on the horses enough to canter afew times . Myself and hubby stayed behind and spoke with Rebecca and her son for the whole time the girls were out. The experience from the start to the end was fantastic. Staff are extremely friendly. The horses they rode were safe and looked well cared for . The hack itself was off road through beautiful scenic
