Original Devon Boats are famous for combining stability, with classic lines, at an affordable price. All our boats are RCD category C and all mainsails are loose-footed for extra safety. Our shallow-drafted boats can be supplied with an easy launch trailer, so they are ideal for trailer sailing and exploring shallow waters where larger vessels cannot go.

Bob and Norma Brown are pleased to announce the Devon range of boats will continue to be built in 2018. On their retirement in December they are handing over to Tim and April Altham. Tim is determined to carry on giving an excellent service supplying all the spares for the Devon range as well as building the full range of boats to a very high specification.
Prior to the Recreational Craft Directive (1998), which enabled the introduction of rules and testing procedures with regards to minimal buoyancy very few designs were tested for buoyancy i.e how they would float and be recovered in the event of a swamping. After this date we modified all of the buoyancy of our range of boats to conform to the new RCD standards.
We have been supplying our boats to Outdoor Adventure Centres, Scout Groups and the RYA Sailability Scheme for many years. Adventure Centres such as Birch Hall and Sailing Centres such as Rockley Watersports are clients that need the stability of our boats and the maximum possible weight carrying capacity for crew and kit.
There may well come a time to sell your Devon or Drascombe boat to trade up to a larger boat such as our Coaster or Tamarisk 19 or to sell for some other reason. At Honnor Marine, as manufacturers of our Devon range of boats we regularly get asked for the availability of second hand boats. Because of this we offer an excellent opportunity to sell your Drascombe or Devon Boat.
The Scaffie is built to the same proud standards of craftsmanship evident in all our craft. The single standing lug-sail is loose footed for safety and simplicity, it gives the Scaffie a really brisk performance. A 2-3 hp outboard is all you will need to drive this boat along. The Scaffie makes an excellent rowing boat, and is light to pull and easy to hold on course.
