Great local pet shop with super helpful staff, great selection of stuff and homely atmosphere, helped by the parrot and occasional dog 😁

Very eco friendly which is great and the staff were lovely. Has all the food and accessories essentials. They even do dog tag engraving.

My black pom Bailey always comes 0ut trim and fresh. He is a nervous boy when I leave him anywhere (groomer, vets, friends, even with his papa) but James always does a great job with him.

It has picture of 2 budgies when you google it so you would presume they sell budgies but no luck a trip across Edinburgh for nothing

These guys are the best. Always pleasant to deal with, always helpful and they deliver too! With 4 mouths to feed we need our pet food in sacks and with me having to shield means we can't just pop to the shop.

Great selection of healthy treats for the dog. Decent value for money and fast service. Have been using them for a while and will continue to do so.

Very quick delivery. My only complaint is that quite a bit of the range seemed low or out of stock. Also would love to see more environmentally friendly packaging for the frozen food, even if you could offer to take back the boxes to reuse.

Excellent quality products and online service. We're based in London. A friend had recommended Dofos and a specific dog food they supply. We were able to order and receive a delivery next day with no additional postage charges. Friendly, efficient, and good value for money.

But he took such good care of the love of my life that I couldn't help but want to buy everything in the store in the hopes that it would pay his college tuition... which I realize now is a fruitless effort because it's free to go to Uni in Scotland, although we'll see how that goes.

If you're looking to treat the furry friend in your life then Dofos Pet Centre has an excellent range of chew sticks, biscuits and other tid bits for the apple of your eye. When I ventured in last week I left with a couple of tins of "Applaws" gourmet cat food and some cheese flavoured biscuits for my fussy cat. He is a cat. I've realised just how much I dislike pet stores!

I haven't been in too many so I can't compare Dofos (funny name) to other stores of the like, but the birds and rodents they had in cages brought out the inner PETA activist in me. I mean, I'm not going vegetarian or anything crazy like that, but it is quite sad to see animals confined to such a small space.

Rant aside, I .. suppose... Dofos is alright for pet food, as they seemed to have an extensive amount of the stuff! They also had several cats slurking about as well as the cutest little kittens for sale.

I hate cats. I like most other animals, but I hate cats. They're anit-social, they scratch anyone who comes within a ten metre radius of them and they only give their owners any affection when they want fed. Unfortunately, Dofos is full of these violent, two-faced gits who are just prowling about the place like they're something special.
Further, there seem to be cages all over the place with emaciated, bored parrots in them who don't want to 'play ball' with the talking thing. They do, however, have plenty of pet food, accessories, cages and even medicines for animal

I understand where Stuart and Alice are coming from. The magic of seeing a bird in a cage when you're a kid is non existent when you're an adult - it's pretty grim. That being said, although witnessing animals boxed up in containers makes me feel uncomfortable, I didn't think the guineas and budgies in here looked malnourished.

The rabbits, rodents and guineas all had a good bit of space to bounce about in, although they all seem to huddle together in one corner of the enclosure for heat which is quite cute. I think that rabbits should be kept in hutches even when in a pet

I have to agree with Alice, everything does look a little skinny in this shop. The parrots looks anorexic, have a little look for yourself. But then again, when did you ever seen a happy caged animal?

When I was 5 or 6 I used to love this place so much because the amount of animals there was in such a small space, now I realise this is quite upsetting. Birds especially.

I remember reading a story that a man that raised cattle was arrested because his cows looked skinny but this was found to be totally natural and it was only because he wasn't fattening them up - he knew how to keep animals and onlookers didn't and in their naivety thought he was being cruel.

- I'm only half sure I know what I'm talking about but nothing in that shop looks happy or healthy.

Dofos is a family-run business and you really get that vibe when you walk into the shop. It has a great selection goods for your pet ranging from the practical to the fun. Most things in here are a little more expensive than you would pay in a large chain shop or online at Amazon, however the staff can't be faulted with their friendly attitudes and animal knowledge. They offer a delivery service too.
