Making a Will is something which, understandably, many people put off but if you should die without a Will dying ' intestate it may result in your estate being distributed according to intestacy rules rather than in line with your wishes. These rules are very rigid and may not reflect what you'd like to happen to your wealth, or what is most tax-efficient.
It is possible to set up a trust where you can transfer your assets to people (known as trustees) who would then hold those assets according to terms agreed between you. The asset most commonly transferred is the property. The terms of the trust would usually stipulate that, although the property is held for your beneficiaries, they will not be able to sell the property whilst named people continue to live there.
A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is a legal document in which you appoint persons whom you wish to make decisions on your behalf should you become unable to do so yourself either as a result of an illness or accident. There are two types of LPA: one which relates to property and financial affairs and the other for decisions in connection with your health and welfare.

Contrary to the experience of the other reviewer, I have found the advice and services of this company top notch, showing an in-depth understanding of the law, and the complexities of wise estate planning.

I did not want the services of this company and was rather disappointed to get a pushy letter stating that ' they will be in contact to arrange a convenient time' and the implication that my will, although fairly recently written by an experienced will writer, may be out of date and not relevant to my circumstances.
I am extremely weary of pushy salesmen and companies, especially after one tried to get power of attorney over a very competent friend of mine. I had given explicit instructions to my will writer that I did not want anything to do with this company, nor did I want them to contact me
