Lamp offers free to access mental health advocacy in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Find out how we can help. A Peer Advocate is a volunteer that has a keen interest in supporting those experiencing mental heath issues. As a charity, Lamp really values the time and expertise of those who would like to take on a rewarding volunteer role.
Services
Lamp provides independent advocacy that helps people with mental health issues and their carers, which can be found outlined in the Advocacy Charter. Working on developing their confidence to speak out, so their voices are heard, enables individuals to make a real difference in the quality of the support and care they receive.
Do you need help to access or address on-going issues with mental health services via your GP, community mental health team or community psychiatric service? When using this referral form, please ensure you include your full name, address, postcode, and date of birth. It is important that you explain what problems you are having in accessing support for your mental health needs in the referral form, so we can provide the best support we can.
Voluntary giving is very important to us. As a local charity, donations help us to continue to provide services that help and support those in the local community who need it most. From individuals who have a mental health need, to those who care for someone with mental health issues, your donation will provide services that can support mental health services.
LAMP's shine a light campaign seeks to encourage people to call, message or reach out and emphasise the importance of a conversation. We want you to reach out to your friends, family, and colleagues and light up their phone with a conversation and a positive message. You don't have to use your phone.

I have worked with Lamp and as a Board Trustee for a couple of years and the team are immensely hardworking and professional. They care so much about their clients & passionately work in partnership with people to provide exceptional mental health advocacy, advice as well as business support. They are a great team to work with and in the face of many funding and resources challenges, they continue to persevere so that they can help others as much as possible.

I too would give 0 if I could. I have been calling this number all morning, the phone rings off the hook and then cuts off. What kind of help are these people claiming to give if they cannot be contacted????

I have emailed this service on many occasions and even my Dad emailed them and tried to call. But they just don’t seem interested to get back in touch.
