Classic Restorations (Scotland) Ltd. is the largest and longest established restorer and repairer of Classic & Vintage motor cars in Scotland. Our staff of 19 employees, including 10 craftsmen fully trained in their own specialised fields, cover all of the many traditional trades necessary to return classic vehicles back to their pristine best and across all different marques and era's.
It is this breadth of knowledge, skill and experience that means much of our restoration work is performed in-house, chromium and nickel plating and wood restoration is outsourced to trusted partners we have worked with for many years. In short we believe there are few firms anywhere that are better equipped to undertake vehicle restorations, whether partial or full.

Services
Founded by Charles Palmer in 1985, Classic Restorations (Scotland) Ltd. has long been at the very forefront of vehicle service and restoration. Indeed, the vehicles that were in every day use at the time are the classic cars of today and Charles who began as an engineering apprentice 60 years ago still enjoys getting under the hood for a 'bit of mechanicing' as he puts it.
Servicing a classic vehicle is not the same as servicing a modern vehicle. Greater experience is necessary, extra care is needed and a level of dedication to preserve these fantastic cars for more than their owners sake is optimum. At Classic Restorations (Scotland) Ltd we promise that we always place yours, and your car's, best interests first.
As our name implies, a very large section of our business is restoration of the Classic & Vintage motor cars which our clients love and wish to return to their former elegance and mechanical superiority. We do restoration work on all makes of quality vehicles, our skills and knowledge are transferable, and the same standards of workmanship are applied to whatever we are doing.
Restoring a classic vehicle involves more than a mechanical restoration, it requires the same high level of craftmanship dedicated to the car's interior. At Classic Restorations (Scotland) Ltd our coach trimmers are experts in all aspects of interior restoration - leatherwork, woodwork, fabric and carpet trimming with many previous full retrims of such cars as a 1922 Bentley 3 litre and 1964 Rolls-Royce Phantom V to a concours winning level.
Engineering is the very foundation of the cars that we love and if exacting standards of excellence were applied in the original manufacture of your vehicle, you should demand nothing less for its continued upkeep. We abide to that firm principle in every aspect of mechanical maintenance and repair we undertake.

Car has been in their workshop for restoration for 16 months now and still awaiting its return, despite various promises ; the workmanship appears to be of a high standard but the labour costs are extremely high and there is lack of organization , urgency and coordination resulting in many many wasted hours which the customer ends up paying for. i have various cars but i wont be putting anymore to classic restorations; if you do send your car there, get a fixed price and programme/ return date

I own and drive a Bentley of that "in-between" age; not [yet!] a classic, but more than a few years old and with a perfect and fully documented service history from franchised dealers from its early life. It was a difficult decision to move from Bentley approved main dealers for servicing but I was most impressed by the knowledge and expertise of the staff at Classic Restorations. The routine servicing of the Bentley was carried out exactly in line with my requests, and I believe Bentley's requirements, plus the addition of further items which required routine attention. I was introduced to the

I asked Classic Restorations (Scotland) to replace the clutch on my 1935 Rolls Royce and carry out one or two other adjustments whilst the work was being done. From my initial phone call, to the collection of the car, to the completion of the work, the level of service was impeccable. The work was assessed, the estimate given and upon my instruction the job was started and subsequently completed in a very timely manner, with regular updates given along the way. I went to collect the car and was very kindly offered a show round by John Davidson, who had liaised with me regarding the work. I was

I was well informed and kept up to date about my costs and work carried out both mechanically and Bodywork wise.
When your dealing with Old Cars no one really knows what's involved you really have to be aware of that and expect hidden works etc. I found the Boys excellent we did have our moments all in all I'm a big Fan.
Thanks Guys.

I run a much loved 1998 916 Alfa GTV, and like most of these cars the drivers seat bolster material had worn through.
Hunting for someone to repair it in Aberdeenshire proved fruitless, but folk kept suggesting I contacted Mr Palmer at Classic Restorations (Scotland). I checked their website and was initially concerned, would folk who restore timeless British Vehicles from Crewe and Newport Pagnell turn their nose up at my mass market Italian "modern" car?
I should not have worried. They are both friendly and modest, the work was executed swiftly and really well, the material match was lovely

I cannot recommend this Company to anyone and the car will never go back there. After spending a great deal of money 10's of thousands, the car has been back several times and they still couldn't get it right both mechanically and cosmetically (bodywork). I have now had to get this sorted at other local Companies. I don't mind spending over the odds but I do expect a good quality job - they are unable in my experience to carry out good quality work but they charge you over the top. I have also experienced being charged for the same job twice.

The quoted price doubled for me too, I did ask to be notified if the costs escalated past the quote but this never happened. Was even given the wrong total cost from another customers account. Estimated time was given as week for the work, in the end the car stayed there for a month and a half in total.
Job quality was very poor indeed. Had to send it back to be redone. Acceptable second time round.
Asked to be kept updated on progress with the car, bar the bills being sent there was no communication initiated by this company.
I had hoped the previous reviews regarding the costs and advice to
