Traditionally used by shepherds so they could keep an eye on their flock day and night, Shepherd's huts date back to the 16th century. The interior was simply furnished and warmed by a small cast iron stove. Our Shepherd's Huts are sustainable and beautifully made by English craftsmen to reflect the style of a 19th century Victorian hut.

A very pleasant stay in a static caravan. On site staff were very pleasant and attentive. Caravan was clean and warm, with a great view. On site facilities for tourers, campers and motorhomes seem good. Nether Wasdale is a lovely village with 2 pubs, and good local walks. No phone signal, but on-site Wi-Fi available at reception and outside the shop.

Amazing campsite, the staff/owners couldn't be better they were so accommodating and friendly and went above and beyond with us. Toilet and showers block very well looked after, shop/cafe well stocked and very good collection of items. Definitely going to return again and very much so looking forward to it.

Quite a large camp site but felt nice and peaceful, we only stayed 1 night but made the most of the walk in the woods right by the site. The toilets and shower rooms were clean and tidy. The shop was full with treats and ice creams and supplies for camping.

Perfect location for Wast Water and some fabulous walking trails. Lovely site with a rustic feel. Great staff! Yes some pitches are a little ‘snug’ and yes another toilet/shower block elsewhere on the site would be nice to save a bit of a walk for those without their own facilities that were pitched further into the site. At the time of our stay the site was reasonably busy and they were never fully occupied and were spotless. As there is no phone or internet signal we used a radio to get weather forecast and if all else fails there’s a phone box by the pub(s). The shop is well stocked with

We rented a shepherds hut on the site for 4 nights. As expected the accommodation was small inside but cozy. The fold out bed was comfortable, the small log burning stove heated the hut nicely on a cold night. A firepit and wood was provided along with exclusive use of a picnic table. Small shop on site stocking essential items. Clean shower areas with good hot showers.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Peaceful location with amazing views. Picturesque views of the local area, joyful driving around the country roads. We stayed at the camp for five days and highly recommend to anyone looking to relax and spend amazing time with Nature in Cumbria.
Following our three hour ascend to the summit of Scafell Pike and even more challenging return to the camping site, the lady at the reception was kind to call a few local Inns to eventually squeeze us in at nearby The Kellbank in Gosforth where we had a delicious meal. Thank you!

Shame about noise from some campers, not recommend if your vegetarian like me. Also lots of fire pits so get covered in fumes, can't be good for environment. No phone reception ,may be a good thing. Popular with families. Maybe a quite area for people who want to relax and chill, would be nice as we came to climb scarfell pike.
But lovely views, good clean campsite, staff very friendly and WiFi at the shop.

Had an incredible weekend at the church stile campsite. Beautiful scenery, friendly staff and good quality local meat at the farm shop for the bbq.
Plots are decent for pegging down tents and toilets/shower block was kept clean.
Short walk away from a lovely cafe and the lake so didnt drive away from site much at all.

Staff, location fantastic, showers I'm sorry but there no good at all unless your the only one in there at one point I was catching water in my hands from a trickle to get rinsed off, not what you want after a day's hiking, take some strong tent pegs the average peg you get from a tent will bend, also whilst we where there a massive group of around 20 to 30 people where allowed to book and stay all together in the same field, not good at all, I really wanted to give you guys 5* how ever because of the major 2 issues mentioned above I just couldn't, although I must mention that the group was moved

Nice site. Modern, clean toilet / shower block (shower pressure a bit questionable when lots of people using it at once), handy for Wasdale, lots of drinking taps, lots of smaller fields so a nice cosy feel to it. No phone signal for me, but the shop at the entrance has good WiFi. And ice cream. Can put your car next to the tent.
