We practice a sporting style of karate with emphasis on freedom of movement and incorporating the best of traditional and modern systems. Emphasis is placed on the quality of instruction, producing well disciplined and technically excellent students. Karate is an activity that the whole family can participate in, and family participation is well catered for within the N.F.K.A.
We teach Karate in a friendly and safe atmosphere, everyone was once a beginner including your Instructor. We accept children from about 5 years old, from 4 years old in our little Ninja's classes (depending willingness to learn) in our adult classes we usually have members with a wide range of ages, male and female, from teenagers to those in their forties and fifties!

Services
N.F.K.A. was formed in 1990 and has grown from strength to strength. We now have a number of schools throughout the North East of England. Our association is, without doubt, one of the largest martial arts organisations in the North East. Since its formation it has trained many British, World and European Champions and thousands of Blackbelts, however medals, trophies and grades are not only our measure of success.
Generally, anyone over the age of five years of age can benefit from martial arts training. The only requirement is that you make your instructor aware if you have an illness or a disability. This is purely to ensure that the correct action is taken in the event of illness/injury. All such information will be held in the strictest confidence.
We have a very strong anti-bullying policy within the NFKA. Bullying of any sort by NFKA members will not be tolerated, any student found to be bullying other either at the class or in other setting may be asked to leave the association. If you are being bullied you can talk to your instructor or contact ChildLine - the free 24-hour helpline for children and young people in the UK.
Starts at attention, to be performed at a medium pace all techniques to be correct, and on target. Left (front) static hooking kick, Left (without putting the leg down) double turning kick. Starts the form in fighting stance, to be performed at a medium pace all techniques to be correct and on target.
There will be events held annually for Dan grades using both internal & external Instructors. All Dan grades should have their attendance at Black Belt courses, Seminars & First Aid & Coaching recorded & signed off within their black book. Assistant coaching within their club & good event attendance will be taken into consideration when allowing a student to advance between Dan grades.

A fantastic, friendly association that offers fun and extremely affordable classes!
I've loved watching my nephew learn and develop with NFKA over the years since he started, and I was really pleased to get the chance to try out two classes at NFKA Wallsend recently, after I had to stop my MMA training a couple of months ago as I could no longer… afford it (or the extra fee to start sparring classes - a long-term goal of mine). It was challenging to move from one martial arts system to another, but I really enjoyed the classes!
Now that I've joined as a member, I'm so glad that I can continue
