Acorn Treework
Maintaining your land, garden or site is important to the appearance and growth of your trees and shrubs. Whether your tree has out-grown its location or you require more light through to your house or garden, we can provide maintenance services such as crown thinning and reduction, limb removal, pollarding and dead wooding.

Sometimes trees have to be removed if they are dead, dying or dangerous. It could be that a tree is too close to a building or the root system is undermining the foundations. Acorn Tree Work provides dismantling, felling, stump grinding and full site clearance services. Acorn Tree Work is qualified to give advice on a broad range of tree matters relating to conservation and planning.
Services
Acorn Tree Work is qualified to give advice on a broad range of tree matters relating to conservation and planning. We recommend that all trees should be checked regularly to check for possible damage and defects. Tree owners are advised to look carefully at their trees for signs of fungal activity at the base and root system (particularly noticeable in the autumn) and for dead and diseased branches and cavities in the stem and crown.
Crown thinning is the sensitive removal of a selected proportion of the trees crown. This does not affect the overall size of the crown but allows more air and light into the canopy, reduces the weight on extended limbs and the impact of strong winds to the tree. Once a tree has suffered storm damage it may be necessary to remove particular sections in order to make it safe and aid its growth.
We are often asked to dismantle trees in both large and small spaces including areas where access is extremely difficult. We are capable of using various crane techniques whilst complying with all site safety requirements. Our skilled climbers are trained to carry out this kind of work safely and competently.
If you live in Conservation Area consent has to be given by the Local Authority. You do not require permission if the stem diameter is less than 7.5cms. Trees in a Conservation Area require a 6-week notice of intent. If after that time no written confirmation has been received the work can proceed.

Richard and his team did a wonderful job for us in removing 2 trees. Everything was left tidy, the work was conducted in a very professional and skillful manner and they are a nice team to have around. We would not hesitate to recommend them and will without doubt use them for all our future tree works.

Richard did an amazing job taking down the cherry tree in our back garden. The space was very restricted and the tree had to removed via a neighbours garden. Great care was taken not to damage anything and to clean up as well. Thanks for a great job Richard.

Richard came at very short notice after a four foot diameter, fifty foot ash tree fell, blocking our drive. He worked tirelessly all day, chopping and clearing and left everything neat and tidy. Brilliant job, would highly recommend.

Acorn Tree Work provided me a first class service by removing a eucalyptus tree and trimming a large silver birch. This job was completed very quickly with absolutely no trace of any mess left in the garden. Richard was very professional and provided me with helpful advice on other trees within my garden. I would have no hesitation in recommending Acorn Tree Work.
