The restoration of a classic car can take many forms: from recommissioning a vehicle that has been laid up to extensive repair as the result of many years and miles of use. Obviously restoration of any kind will require thorough assessment, investigation and a degree of fault finding initially.
Understanding what work needs to be carried out, be it electrical, engine, gearbox, suspension, interior or welding to the chassis or bodywork is critical and something that our engineers are highly experienced at.Once the car is assessed and the owner is satisfied with costs and timescales work to strip the car down either partially or completely will begin.

Quite often during our Health Check long standing problems are often discovered. We frequently find that customers have become used to faults or assume that old cars just drive like that. Customers are often surprised by how well their car can drive after a few simple repairs to suspension, brakes or steering.
Classics have built many engines from two cylinder air cooled Fiat Abarth engines through to eight cylinder Stag engines. The process is helped by having the JSWL machine shop at our disposal. We often convert engines to run happily on unleaded fuel and always suggest that the engines that we build are balanced to ensure smooth running and improved longevity.
We are located on the Pipers Wood Industrial Park on the outskirts of Waterlooville in Hampshire along with the rest of the JSW Group. Our workshop is in Unit 1 but we ask visitors to report to the Group reception at Unit 8. By Road - Classics by JSWL are conveniently placed just 2 miles from Junction 3 on the A3(M) and less than an hour drive from the M25.
