Sunny Bank Mills
Sunny Bank Mills is an inspirational commercial and cultural destination in the heart of the local community of Farsley, Leeds. Founded in 1829, these glorious Mills are being regenerated by the sixth generation of the family owners, creating a wonderful blend of work, leisure and culture. Sunny Bank Mills offer beautifully restored creative business spaces for both small and large organisations.

Sunny Bank Mills Gallery is the epicentre of our arts programme, spanning exhibitions, workshops, studio spaces and events, and the Sunny Bank Mills Archive protects and promotes the history of the mill and the community.
Services
Sunny Bank Mills are founded by group of local clothiers who invest together to purchase land and build a woollen scribbling and fulling mill, known as The Farsley Club Mill. John Gaunt is appointed as one of the trustees to run the mill. Edwin Woodhouse purchases the majority shares in Sunny Bank Mills and becomes the outright owner.
Small, friendly, focused; passionate about the mill and its heritage; we talk lots, work hard, make things happen, and eat lunch together regularly. With a complementary skill set that ranges from project management, accounting, marketing, weaving, cooking and D.I.Y., we collaborate daily to create spaces for business, culture and community.
A cultural destination with a contemporary art gallery, growing studio artist community, creative courses and events. Our unique industrial spaces inspire and engage through their history and that of their communities, both past and present.

Whether you are shopping in the light and tranquil former cloth warehouse that houses the Gallery, learning on a creative course in the Spinning Mill or Twisting Gallery Studios, or attending an event in the atmospheric Old Woollen, you will share our experience of these amazing spaces and create your own wonderful memories.
Sunny Bank Mills Heritage offers access to the unique history of a textile mill and its community. Sunny Bank Mills Archive safeguards the history of the Mill for its local community and future generations through textiles, objects and stories.

Containing over 60,000 lengths of cloth, 8000 fabric designs, 5000 dye cards, guard books and artefacts associated with nearly 200 years of cloth production it is a source of inspiration to history lovers, artists and anyone fascinated by heritage and textiles. It also provides community engagement through its volunteer and education programmes, and strives to be accessible to all.
Sunny Bank Mills, a former textile mill, has been restored to an exceptionally high standard to offer unique, creative space for both large and small businesses. The flexible mill buildings have been fitted out to suit requirements from A grade offices and studios to shops and restaurants. All the spaces offer characterful working environments with wonderful amenity space, both indoors and on the surrounding 10 acre estate.

What a great place! Lovely people running this great little gallery, and display space. Lots of interesting pictures, artwork, furniture to look at, and such an interesting building. The cake and coffee is rather special too 😁

Lovely food, poor Covid measures. Staff member sneezed into her hands, put apron on, without sanitisation and staff member leant right across the table to clean it, with no consideration about distancing, and no mask.

Came here for a comedy night and it was really good. The guys that run it are really friendly and funny themselves. The staff were quick and friendly with the social distancing done in a fantastic way with flags to order drinks.
The toilets were outside but were kept clean and tidy.

Magnificant building. Owners doing a great job developing the site. There is an art gallery, coffee shop, new brewery and a food van. Interesting walk around the site takingvin the dye garden, where they grew plants to make all the dyes. History meets modern day. Brilliant.
