We would like to welcome you to our practice and hope that you become a regular satisfied patient. Please feel free at any time to discuss your particular needs or queries with the dentist or staff. Nearly any problem or worry can be solved and worked out, but only if we know about it, however trivial it might seem.

Our aim is good dental health for you and your family through preventive dentistry. That means giving you regular dental advice and helping you understand how to care for your teeth to reduce the need for dental treatment. We operate a recall system to remind you when your next visit is due. The Practice was established in 1948.
Services
L Ziman and Associates Ltd was established in 1948 as a single chair dental surgery on Brockley Road, south east London. Strategically located in the heart of the Brockley conservation area, it has served the local population with their dental needs for over 50 years. The practice has now expanded to an 8 chair practice engaging the services of 7 full time dentists and 5 part time(Saturday) dentists.
The best way to ensure the long-term health of your mouth is to combine regular dental check-ups, hygienist appointments and a good oral hygiene routine at home. Your dental hygienist will professionally clean your teeth (scale and polish) helping to make sure your mouth is fresh and healthy.

Even with regular brushing at home it is impossible to stop the daily build-up of plaque on your teeth which can cause gum irritation, bleeding and bad breath. When left untreated, tartar build up could potentially lead to the development of gum disease. At your regular appointments, the hygienist can remove this tartar layer.
This covers everything listed in Band 1 above, plus any further treatment such as fillings, root canal work or if your dentist needs to take out one or more of your teeth. NHS dental treatment includes all treatment necessary to secure and maintain your oral health. Cosmetic dentistry such as teeth whitening and white fillings on back teeth fall under private treatment.
This is a guide to the main treatments carried out by dentists. Some are readily available on the NHS, while some may only be available on the NHS in certain circumstances. As with glasses and prescription costs, you have to pay a contribution towards the cost of your NHS dental treatment. The cost depends on the type of treatment and which cost band the treatment is covered by.

Quick shout out to Julia who is the first dentist in 30 years that I'd happily go back to. She made a stubborn wisdom tooth removal relatively painless and showed great experience to ensure I was comfortable and suitably anesthetized prior to the removal.

Experience dependent on who you see. Some, like Mr N are great. One dentist has no tact, made me feel bad for being there, didn't offer a diagnosis and when my housemate also saw her, the dentist admitted she hadn't done a great job on the crown treatment. Not reassuring at all. Felt like a student who didn't have experience with the public. The nurse also tutted at me when I showed pain. I left in tears. Receptionists are all great and deserve a pay rise.

I have been a patient at Smiles For You for about 4 years now- so let it be known this review represents numerous visits.
Recently I went in with a failing filling on a top molar which I have had for about 10 years- a precarious situation given how large the filling was. The risk being that I might need a crown or root canal if the filling was too deep.
Being from America I can say I am well versed in all sorts of dental treatment and was honestly worried about receiving treatment that I wasn't paying for. I can say now I had nothing to worry about.

The dentist threatened me when I was filming my procedure. Then purposely threw a tool in my mouth nearly choking me.

This practice doesn't even deserve this one star, majority of the staff I've come across in my appointments over the years need a customer service training course. I honestly have no idea how some of the receptionist and dental team think it's acceptable to offer a service when they're so rude.
I haven't been here for years because of this, I tried to go in this morning to book an appointment as my current dental practice are fully booked (I understand why - 10/10 service) thinking things would be different at Smiles For You but they're still the same. Dodged a bullet, don't want to be paying

I have been to the practice a number of times now and I cannot speak highly enough of the team. The receptionist is friendly and polite and the dentist and hygienist are clearly well trained and informative. I have always received excellent customer service and most importantly the work I have had completed is of a very high standard. I would 100% recommend to anyone seeking quality combined with excellent customer service!

The receptionist staff are very friendly. I have been to both the dentist and hygienist. The hygienist was very helpful and give very good advise. The dentist didn't offer much advise didn't clean or check my gums and I was dismissed very quickly i paid £25 to have a mirror stuck in my mouth...

So far so good, had our first visit this week. Friendly, efficient, prepared to see my daughter straight away and removed some baby tooth fragments on her. Dentist was communicative and helpful. I'm taking the rest of the family next week.
And of course it helps that they are local and take NHS patients.

I've been using this dentist for a few years now; clearly they're doing OK as they've finally updated their shabby shopfront and made it a little more professional looking; previously it was not for the fainthearted. The dentists - those who are not thoroughly disillusioned and have decided to take only private patients - are decent and good with kids, and the treatment I have had has been good (though pricey, even though I am NHS.) INdeed, they still take NHS patients on, which is unusual for today. One gripe is that as the surgery is in a large converted house, you often have to
