Your first visit is nothing to worry about but it is probably the most important one of your whole treatment! You will have the opportunity to meet our team and ask any questions that you might have about orthodontic treatment. When you arrive at the practice for the first time, we will ask you to complete a short questionnaire that will help us to find out more about you and how you feel about the appearance of your teeth.
Orthodontics is a specialised branch of dentistry concerned with the treatment and improvement of crooked/crowded teeth and bite abnormalities. Its aim is to provide an attractive smile and a healthy and comfortable bite.
Both Graham Edwards and John Kerrigan at Circus Orthodontics are qualified dentists who have undertaken further training and gained post-graduate qualifications to be recognised by the General Dental Council as Specialists in Orthodontics. When they are at work, all they do all day every day is straighten teeth!

Fixed appliances are probably the most common type of orthodontic appliances in use today. They consist of small brackets that are attached onto the front surface of the teeth with a dental adhesive. The brackets are then connected with a thin wire which is often held in place with elastic (sometimes coloured) loops.
We know that many adults would like to improve the appearance of their teeth, but felt too self-conscious and embarrassed to have train track braces? Or may simply not want people to know they are undergoing orthodontic treatment. These custom made, fixed orthodontic appliances known as lingual braces are cemented to the inside of the teeth making your braces virtually invisible from the outside.
These are removable appliances which use the muscles of the face and jaws to improve the way that the teeth bite together. They are usually advised in those patients who have very prominent teeth (known as an increased overjet) and with good patient co-operation they can produce dramatic improvements in the way that the teeth bite together.

Was a bit unsure how my SN daughter would get on with someone touching her teeth. But Mr Kerrigan & Sarah were amazing with my daughter. Explaining things in a way she could understand them. The whole team have been amazing over the past few years from the reception ladies greeting her at the door with a welcoming smile, to Mr Kerrigan and his outstanding work and Sarah who has been an absolute diamond!! I can not rate the whole experience enough ❤️ if you have children with additional needs I 100% recommend the Circus Orthodontics.
