It takes 100's of years of limestone-filtered rainwater to reach the right hardness, and generations of Gloucestershire hop farming, with the patient dedication of our master brewer, to create the perfect Hillside brew.

Beertrice is normally relaxing in a sunny spot and while she is quite reserved, don't be fooled she is quite efficient at pest control. Talking over a beer with his Dad's was surely the start of Hillside Brewery. It is Paul that is in charge of all things Hillside and has taken this lovely little brewery and put it on the big stage.
Well who wouldn't! But we really do love making beer. The smell as it changes from raw products to beautiful clear, golden (or darker) liquid that demands to be tasted and enjoyed.
Hillside Brewery sits in the hills of Gloucestershire, at the edge of the Forest of Dean and be it the clear water we enjoy, the quality of the ingredients we use, the lovely fresh air, the desire we have to brew the finest ales or, as we suspect, a mix of all of the above, we do create some absolutely amazing beers and ciders (and, keep it quiet, a very lovely lager!).

We brew these beers year round so that you can enjoy all year round too! And they range from light session beers, ideal for any summer's afternoon and evening as well porter styles that will warm every cell in your body as it wraps you in a special Hillside Brewery 'cashmere blanket'.
We are constantly innovating with our range of craft specials, using the many exciting, newly available or seasonal ingredients in interesting ways. With our limited edition production brewing we have created a range of fine artisan beers, each with its own distinct personality & character.
Of course we use the same care, passion and enthusiasm in our brewing process and the only real difference is that we can be a little more experimental with the tastes, pushing our brewing process to the edge and possibly taking you out of your comfort zone.What we want to do is to give you another beer to tick off, maybe a flavour combination you hadn't considered but one that makes you think again and open up another one!

Proud to be small. We are only a small brewery and we are very proud of that. In fact writing this website is stopping me doing deliveries or helping our head brewer with the latest creation. We are passionate about great beer and have been fortunate enough to win quite a few awards. Hillside Brewery is an exciting, family owned and run Gloucestershire brewery, built on traditional skills and values.
