Ruabon Sales
Ruabon Quarry Tiles is one of the few remaining quarry tile producers in the UK. Originally founded by the famous local entrepreneur, Henry Dennis, in 1867 when vast amounts of high quality Etruria Marl clay were discovered in Ruabon. The Ruabon "Red Works", as the site was first known, commenced producing ridge tiles, chimney pots and ornamental terracotta.

It was here that the famous quarry tile was born - the Ruabon tile, which is today still Britain's best-known quarry tile. In the early 1980's a major investment and modernisation programme saw the construction of a completely new factory and plant complex with a further major investment to install a modern high speed, computer controlled tunnel kiln, which is over 100 metres long.

Very poor customer service. I ordered the wrong thickness of tile and so wanted to take them back for a refund. Unfortunately, the phone call I had with the Director was shocking. When I explained the mistake and that we had decided to use a different tile, he replied "Oh well". I challenged him on his etiquette and customer service and his reply was the business had been their for over 125 years! Apparently it is their policy not to give refunds and he was very rude on the phone. Be wary.

Be warned, tiles are reclaimed and do not match the description (new!). Customer service is appalling and there are no returns or refunds. DO NOT USE!

Ordered 5 tiles off the internet this Sunday - they've arrived today (Tuesday) - so very prompt, well wrapped and the email & text communication has been perfect. The heather brown tiles are a great match - I've got exactly what I wanted at a reasonable cost (considering the dear carriage due to the weight). I'm as happy as I could be!

Extremely disappointed by my shopping experience here.
In case no one knew, they no longer make their own tiles here, they are imported from China and the ones I looked as were of low quality- not quite square, a bit bent occasionally and the colours varied. The latter I would expect of quarried tiles.
I ordered these as I thought that they would match in with 200+ tiles I had already bought and laid, when I got them home thy didn't match AT ALL. I phoned up and asked to return them and they refused. I'm extremely disappointed with my whole experience.

Terrible experience. These people cheated my elderly mother out of £300 sending her tiles that were completely the wrong size and wrong colour after sending a sample and specifying what she wanted. They would no refund or return the purchase and were incredibly rude. DO NOT USE. what an absolute cheat.
