I won’t be visiting again after today’s visit. After finding what I need the woman at the counter was very friendly and I paid for my items. As I walked out the security guard asked for my receipt of payment after it was clear I’d just been to the till to pay as he was right there! He looked as if it gave him a high to be in the power to March me back to the till for the lady to confirm I paid of which she did. He made it very clear to everyone what he was doing as if he thought he was being clever. When he found i payed he said nothing and nodded. Not the way to treat a customer in that

Good choice of softwoods, outdoor treated wood and hardware. They also have a small selection of hardwoods and AFAIK you can order pretty much anything.
It's a popular place so it can get busy on Saturdays and sometimes it is difficult to get through on the phone.
However, staff are helpful and friendly and offer a cutting service for the wood.
Delivery charges are reasonable.
Unfortunately, they aren't open on a Sunday but you can't have it all!

Thankfully I have been visiting Bassingfield Woodward Ltd for many years. Many things have changed during that time, even the location but the high quality of timber, the friendliness and helpfulness of everyone in the yard stands out amongst all the rest. It never ceases to amaze me how helpful everyone is and it’s no wonder the business is moving on from strength to strength, well done to all concerned you deserve success . Special thanks to Will’ for cutting my order so accurately, the planter turned out better than expected.
