The Islington Centre for English (ICE) is a specialist language school based in N1, central London. We offer a variety of English language courses to suit all levels at some of the lowest prices in the English language school marketplace. Whether you're a beginner or preparing for your Cambridge Advanced Exam certificate, at our school you'll find an English course for you.
Our IELTS evening courses run from 6:30 to 8:30 every Monday and Wednesday. Students will learn specific grammar and practise exam techniques to help prepare them for the IELTS exam. Our Cambridge advanced exam evening courses run from 6:30 to 8:30 every Tuesday and Thursday. Our courses are designed to help students study the grammar, language skills and exam techniques required for the CAE exam.
At the Islington Centre for English (ICE), London we are the English Language Specialists. Our English Courses run from Beginner (CEFR A1) to Advanced (CEFR C2) level and we offer a wide range of courses from General English to First Certificate, English Accent Perfection to Business English. Courses run during the morning, afternoons and evenings so you can fit your English course around work or social commitments.
NB Lessons are scheduled to have a 30-minute in any 3-hour block. However, teachers and students may agree to finish 15 minutes early with a reduced 15-minute break. This course I attended for 3 months was a complete disappointment, there were students of all levels in the class I was in. When we asked why, they said covid 19, some friends said they wanted to change my class and they did. they were able to move to a higher class simply by saying it. My English became much better. I started in elementary class and later moved to pre-intermediate class.
The school has professional teachers and very friendly atmosphere. We also followed all safety rules during the lockdown.
My teacher was Kendrah most of the time. Lessons were interesting, funny and diverse, so it was an unforgettable time.

Islington is a fabolous English academy. I am very proud and glad to study there as my English is improving a lot. I enrolled for 36 weeks afternoon course (GE+IELTS). I've been studying in ICE for 3 months at the moment. I like my current teacher Marco. His lessons are very packed - he teaches not only grammar, new words, accent reduction, but also tells us a lot of interesting things about the UK. I never get bored during his lessons. Also, I'd like to mention Steve - a very professional and knowledgeable teacher. I like the speaking classes with Aviva. It would be great if we have more speaking classes. They're definitely not professionals. I changed my classroom because Kendra's classes were too standard and boring. The teacher got angry with me for changing the class. prevented me from meeting my friends during lunch breaks. He acted like why are you coming to class. This is an amazing school. I took the Advanced course with Steve and it was a wonderful experience. everyone in the group was so kind and responsive, and it made the atmosphere in the classroom really warm and cozy. I highly don’t recommend anyone to enrol to this academy especially the academic ielts.Personally I feel being scammed as I haven’t learnt nothing new l even strongly believe that the content in YouTube in terms of materials and tricks are much better. On top of that, the price doesn’t match what I learn in each week and unfortunately they don’t… have the possibility to pay and attend one session before you pay a big amount of money . If you want to enrol have a look on YouTube ielts channels before or pay at least one week to avoid wasting your money and time 😤

Having been a language teacher for almost two decades I am always looking for the best ways for my pupils to progress rapidly. For me, the key lies in maintaining small group sizes, promoting speaking through participation and intensive practice with native speakers (ideally within the country whose language you are studying) This isn't possible in most schools but ICE offers all of this. Whatever your level of proficiency, there is a class for you.
