Higher Trenowin Farm
Higher Trenowin lies mid-way between Penzance and St Ives and has wonderful views from coast to coast across Cornwall. Our herd of pedigree Red Ruby Devons forage amongst the gorse and heather for the tasty herbage that helps to make their meat taste so good. The Devon heifer calves that are born each year are kept for breeding and the bull calves are fattened for the Farm Shop.

The farm shop is a big part of the farm where as well as our own beef, we sell seasonal vegetables grown on the farm and other locally grown fruit and vegetables. We pride ourselves that vegetables travel only yards not miles to be in our Farm Shop! We also sell local pork from which we make our own sausages and cure our own bacon.
Services
The Farm Shop, established in 2006, is a big part of the farm. It has been set up in the old Cowshouse, where Bridgette as a young girl used to milk the Guernsey cows twice a day with her late father Bill. You can even see the "studdles" where the cows were tied up to be milked.

We grow a lot of vegetables to be sold in the Farm Shop and we also sell fruit and veg that are grown locally and are seasonal - we pride ourselves that vegetables travel only yards not miles to be in our shop!We supply local pubs with vegetables and meat for their fantastic menus and Sunday lunches.
If you were able to come to our Farm Shop, you could browse all the wonderful meats we have but the best things are not always possible, so we can bring it all to your door. Our Red Ruby Devon beef is born and reared here at Higher Trenowin, fed on a grass diet so the meat is high in Omega 3 oils. We air hang our beef for 3 weeks with Himalayan rock salt to help develop the fantastic flavour.
We have a herd of pedigree Red Ruby Devons. The Devons spend most of their time on the hill, foraging amongst the gorse and heather for the tasty herbage that helps to make their meat taste so good and it is high in Omega3 due to having a grass diet. The Trenowin herd is a member of the CHeCs herd health scheme, accredited free of BVD, IBR, Leptospirosis and Risk Level 1 Johne's Disease Status.
At Higher Trenowin, we farm 250 acres of pasture and moorland on the edge of the West Penwith Moors and our farming practices are geared towards maintaining and encouraging the wildlife, flora and fauna of this unique and beautiful area. The upper parts of the farm which rise to 700ft are part of the Natural England Higher Level Stewardship Scheme.

Higher Trenowin farm shop was a brilliant discovery of our holiday. The fresh veg is delicious and comes from the field just outside! The steak and burgers were amazing. The burgers will go down in our family history as the best we've ever had.
