Unless exterior walls are finished in timber or of brick construction, they are normally finished in plaster. Newer buildings built using breeze blocks would usually be finished in sand and cement render, whilst older buildings, and possibly listed buildings would often use traditional materials such as Lime Renders.
Lime has been found to be an extremely effective solution for many centuries, often this is the essential building material. Due to it's long lasting and porous properties, lime plastering is often used for maintenance or restoration of both historical and listed buildings. Wayne and Son's are specialists in lime plastering and have completed many projects throughout Torquay and Devon:.
We supply and fit all types of architectural mouldings and decorative elements such as cornicing, a ceiling rose, corbels, plaster arches, fire surrounds, a recessed wall niche, columns, dado rail, door pediments, panel mouldings, domes and pilasters. Our ceiling fell in at the Elmdene hotel ,on Rathmore Road . We were recommended to Mike and his team, they have done an absolutely fabulous job, I’m a perfectionist and needn’t have worried as so are they . It looks brilliant and they cleaned the mess up . Thanks again , Mike , Paul , Ben. Will highly recommend you all .
